Easy Papillon Potpourri - Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (TSSC256)

We have a GREAT sketch for you this week! This sketch lends itself toward the Clean and Simple (CAS) approach which is not my strong suit! Here's what I made:

Again, I used my color coach to decide which colors to use: Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze, and Daffodil Delight. (I forgot how poorly Baja Breeze sentiments tend to photograph for me - sorry!) I finally purchased the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and coordinating punches) in January and still haven't used it! Since spring is finally here I thought I should break it out as well as the punches!

This card would be perfect to make in mass quantities and the color options are endless! I started by lining up my Very Vanilla card stock on my grid sheet so I could easily see the center and stamped a butterfly in Baja Breeze. Then I stamped butterflies on the top and bottom of the card in Calypso Coral, then centered my last 2 Daffodil Delight butterflies between the Baja Breeze and Calypso Coral butterflies.

Then I punched out a 2-3/8" scallop circle from Calypso Coral, a 1-3/4" circle from Daffodil Delight, and stamped a larger butterfly in Baja Breeze and punched it out with the coordinating butterfly punch. I pierced a circle inside the Daffodil Delight circle then glued it to my scallop circle. I folded my butterfly in half and added a touch of Tombow MultiPurpose Glue (aka Green Glue) to the center of the butterfly so I could flap his wings up for added dimension.  I also added a little "bling" with some Rhinestone Jewels!  Then I popped it all up on some dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment from Friendly Phrases in Baja Breeze. Done!

I {heart} quick and easy cards!

I always try to do a little something to the inside - nothing too dramatic and not to take up a whole lot of room - but just a little something that coordinates with the card front. Follow the rule of KISS (keep it simple stamper)!

  2. Between the butterflies and the colors, this is such a cheery, Spring card.
