Stampin' Up - Tuesday's Tool - Brads

Brads are such a great way to embellish your projects - from cards to scrapbooks to other paper crafts!

Those were some samples of brads in flowers, as basket hinges, as eyes, or as embellishments on a card! Some of these I made and some were shared by others or given to me in a swap. You can click on the picture for a larger image.

Stampin' Up Tip!
Don't like the look of your 3/16" brad? You can easily change the color by heat embossing it! Just dip the head of the brad into a VersaMark Pad, dip it into Stampin' Emboss powder, and then - holding the brad with tweezers - heat it with the heat tool until the powder melts. Once it cools, you have a custom-colored brad!

How do you use the brad?
If you have never used a brad before you need to
  1. Determine where you want to place your brad(s)
  2. Using a 1/16" punch or the Paper-Piercing tool make a hole in your paper
  3. Insert the legs of your brad through the hole
  4. Separate the legs of the brad to secure brad to your project.
If you use the Paper-Piercing tool (my favorite!) you may want to also use the Stampin' Pierce Mat to protect your work surface from the Paper-Piercing tool.
