TSSC283 - Quick and Easy Gorgeous Grunge

Happy Monday! It's time for a sketch challenge with the Technostamper! Check out this week's sketch - TSSC283:

This was a difficult sketch for me and I have to be honest - I wasn't inspired - but I love a good challenge! I looked at  this sketch with a simple frame of mind - 5 elements on the side, 2 layers on top of the base and a sentiment in the corner...easy, right! After looking at my stamps and trying to think simple I thought Gorgeous Grunge would be perfect for this sketch!

Gorgeous Grunge is a stamp set I own because I received it free at convention but it's not really my style. I have seen so many projects made with this stamp set and I loved them but couldn't get myself to actually try the stamp set myself....until I worked on this sketch challenge.

Thank you Mary Jo for such a great sketch because it has made me step outside of my comfort zone and use a stamp set and style that I'm not comfortable with. I LOVE the end result and even better - it's easily done in 5 minutes or less! How's that for quick and easy?

I started with a base of Daffodil Delight followed by a layer of Bermuda Bay and Whisper White. I stamped the diagonal strips with Raspberry Ripple and Daffodil Delight with no real plan and I didn't have to worry about where I stamped because I knew the design would allow for imperfections! 

The splotchy dots were stamped using Bermuda Bay, but I stamped-off first so the color would be more of a background to the diagonal stripes. I stamped a greeting from Four You in Raspberry Ripple and I was done!
