Best of Brides & Babies: TSSC279 Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another week of the Technostamper Sketch Challenge! What a treat we have for you in this week's sketch:

Here is my card for the sketch:

I actually made this card for a wedding in November! I can't believe how punctual I am! LOL Actually my significant other received a wedding invitation from a friend that I haven't met yet because the engaged couple live near Atlanta, Georgia. I still have their wedding invitation on my brain so it was an easy project to come up with!

I have to say I was rather intrigued by the invitation. The invitation and supplements were wrapped in a textured tissue paper which was secured closed with a maple leaf.

I always love maple leaves and other fall colors and the first thing I thought of was Cajun Craze...weird how your mind can work in colors like that! So our wedding card to them was inspired by their wedding invitation.

Music plays an important part to the engaged couple so I wanted to include a little music in their card and I thought it was the perfect time to try the Faux Silk Technique! The technique is actually very easy. Start by crumpling up a piece of tissue paper and open it up flat - but don't smooth out the crinkles! Stamp an image on your measured and cut card stock and then cover your entire piece of card stock with your Anywhere Glue Stick. (In my case I actually used a piece of DSP from Modern Medley.) Then adhere the tissue paper over the card stock. You can smooth out the tissue paper but be sure to press the crinkles down so you don't lose that texture. You can rub your finger over the entire card stock and then turn your card stock over and trim around the edges and adhere your "faux silk" to your card! Here is a close-up view of the "faux silk":

I attached the "faux silk" piece to a Cajun Craze card base. Then I sprayed a little Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. I wanted a little bling but nothing over the top! On the next layer, I stamped 3 wedding bells from the Best of Brides & Babies stamp set with Versamark and embossed them in silver. Then I stamped the greeting in Cajun Craze and layered it on top of Cajun Craze and created a scallop border on one side with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and mounted it all with dimensionals.

I wasn't sure I would like the end project because I saw a lot of white space on the sketch and that is a challenge of mine, but I think it worked out! We would love to see what you can create using this sketch! Head over to Mary Jo's blog listed below and enter your project using the sketch. 1. I bet they will just love this card, so many special touches. And I can not believe you have it ready this early--I can't do that because by the time the wedding came around I would no longer like my creation, lol! Simply beautiful and so much thought put into it. You rock my friend. Thanks for being on the TSSC team!
