Baby Bumblebee ~ Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday! It's time for another challenge with the Technostamper! I'm so glad to be back and creating - I've had some hectic family things come up and we've been house-bound due to an ice storm and snow storm here in middle-Tennessee. The kids have been out of school every day last week and it has been cancelled for today as well. I'm anxiously waiting to see when they can go back... Meanwhile I've had lots of time to get crafty! Here is the sketch for this week:

And here is my card:

Have you seen this cute little guy from the 2015 Occasion Catalog? I fell in love at first sight! I don't have any little babies (my youngest is almost 4!) and don't know anyone having a baby anytime soon BUT I will be prepared with this card when the time is right!

I used a card base of Soft Sky followed by a layer of Lost Lagoon card stock that I embossed with my Honeycomb  Embossing Folder. Then I used a pattern of paper from the Sweet Dreams DSP.

It's not so easy to tell from this picture, but what's great about this paper is that if it's a "girly" print on one side of the paper, you can flip it for the masculine version of the print!

I also used my favorite ribbon - Venetian Crochet Trim. It's so soft and looks delicate but is really very sturdy and so so beautiful! Then I used my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamped the baby bumblebee in Memento Black ink and the greeting in Lost Lagoon. Before mounting the stamp set I separated the words from the picture to make it easier to stamp them separately. I colored the bee with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities. Then I used my two-way glue and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds - something I haven't used in FOREVER! I forgot how much fun it is to use Dazzling Diamonds on my projects. I finished off the card by making a bow with Hello Honey ribbon and adhering to the top of my layer with a glue dot.

Here is one more fun thing...

Have you seen the  this new photopolymer stamp set released last month? Better Than E-Mail is a great set that you can use to add that special "I made this!" touch to all your projects and gifts! I love to stamp the back of my cards with one of these stamps. Check them out!

We would love to see what you can create using this sketch! Head over to Mary Jo's blog listed below and enter your project using the sketch. Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful projects created by the design team this week!

  1. This card made me smile! So sweet! I feel bad for you -- I so get it with this horrible weather, hope you are all cleared out now. It is a never ending winter--my car is covered again! Just won't quit. My son wants to move away from Buffalo after this year. Ugg, hopefully we will have a great summer that will make him forget. Thanks for another great sample for my sketch challenge.
